Progress needed on electric vehicles in Uttlesford!

Local council all over the country have been hamstrung by Conservative Government cuts and Uttlesford is no exception. Investment to prevent climate change is an easy target and this worries us!

Ahead of the May local elections, Uttlesford Liberal Democrats will push the District Council, town councils and local parishes to:

• Ensure that all new developments include electric car charging facilities.
• Invest in schemes to speed up the roll-out of rapid charging points and expand provision at popular locations such as public car parks, leisure centres, and supermarkets.
• Invest in residential on-street charging, using the existing lamp post infrastructure wherever possible so as not to clutter the pavement.
