Remembering Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

The statement by the Hon President of the Uttlesford Liberal Democrats, Mike Hibbs, on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

"The great sadness we all feel at the news of the Queen's death is shared by Uttlesford Liberal Democrats, who offer their condolences to her family and household. Over her long reign she served this country with a steadfast resolve, and her duty and courage gave us continuity through the ups and downs of government. She dedicated her life to the service of her United Kingdom, and to the wider Commonwealth. Her life will long remain an example to the world.

She is the only monarch many of us have ever known, and for over seventy years she was the focus of our celebrations for major events like the 2012 Olympics. Her dedication to her Royal duties earned her the affection, respect and gratitude of us all. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family in their time of mourning."
